Anyone suffering from GERD (the worst possible heartburn of your life)?

I’ve had bad heartburn off and on throughout pregnancy so far,  but I’m in so much pain trying to eat this past week, it’s insane.  I have a feeling that my iron pill supplement did this to me (I’ve read ferrous sulphate can be harsh on the digestive system).  Anyone have similar experience??

Yup, 2 weeks straight of hell. Then it stopped for a week or so and now it's back but just intermittent.

I had it bad and Dr prescribed Protonix and it knocked it out right away.  I just take one per day in the am

I feel better that I’m not the only one—I’ve had all the “heart attack” pain/symptoms this past week too - almond milk has been a savior though, tends to take away the pain instantly and is t dairy (so won’t turn acidic when I digest it).  I had no idea heartburn could be so painful.

I was having such horrible heartburn that the pain manifested into what felt like I was having a heart attack. The doctor prescribed me Prilosec and now I never have any issues.

I can't speak for the iron but for now I have removed most of the common heartburn triggers (tomatoes, garlic, acidic fruit, and others) from my diet. I'm a vegetarian so its become a bit repetitive but so much better than being in pain. I also only sleep on my left side and take pepcid in the morning which seems to help a bit. I used tums if I get really desperate in the middle of the night but they aren't very effective.

Yep, almost every single day. It feels like I have a heart attack every night because of the burning in my chest. It has been so bad I have cried through the pain. However, last friday I went to the pharmacy and got antacids to help neutralize the stomach acid and I found those combined with the candy lovehearts has helped tremendously! You really should try it, I feel like a new person haha.

I'm not taking iron, but have definitely been struggling with indigestion and acid reflux. I started taking prilosec everyday. Relatively symptom free now.
