Contractions?

First time mom here. Is it normal to have contractions without your water ￼ Breaking and is my back suppose to hurt so bad when I have them?

Only 8-15% have PROM. So you are more likely to have contractions before water breaks. Some the water never breaks.

Only 15% of women’s water break on their own. Yes it’s normal to start contractions with no water breaking in sight. Also could be back labor so I suggest getting on all fours and hoping gravity is your friend today before you need to give birth. Back labor is when the baby is facing upwards instead of downwards and it makes labor that much more painful and a bit harder when it comes to pushing. Get on all fours on your bed and stay like that for a while to hope that baby spins around and faces the correct way. They can also try to guide baby’s head the correct position when you’re in active labor. So everything you described is completely normal. Good luck !

Yes its normal. With my first my dr broke my water. I was having contractions every 3-4mins
