Pacifiers?

I know we “can’t choose” what our baby likes but I really don’t want my baby to be in pacifiers, I know that’s a soothing item for them and if they don’t use pacis then it’s something else like a bottle but I’ll be 110% breast feeding so then that means my tits are gonna be soothers lol. I just don’t wanna have to use a lot of things that I have to wean her off of. What can I use as a soother if I don’t use pacifiers? That’s not a bottle or my tits 😂 (or is this decision going to be totally up to her) sorry ftm trying figure out

It’s really not hard to wean them off. Pacifiers have been shown to help prevent SIDS and I would do ANYTHING to help make it as unlikely as possible.
My son used a pacifier and I began taking it during the day, so he didn’t get it until nap time. Then when it would fall out during nap I would remove it, and same at night. If he cried for it, I would give it back... slowly he just kind of forgot it existed.

Just remember to make it something you can take away, I.e. don’t let them become a thumb sucker, easier to take a pacifier away then a thumb.

I’m totally with you but my first used paci from day 1, weaned herself by 4 months and never looked back. My second hated pacis and was a thumb sucker and still is at 18 months. I’d rather have to wean off a paci than a thumb lol. Good luck!

Pacifiers help prevent SIDS and are great for soothing especially when teething. If you don’t give them a Paci you will probably end up with a thumb sucker which is worse. It’s very easy to limit the pacifier as they get older my daughter still gets hers only when she’s tired or bed.

My son never took a pacifier and isn't a thumb sucker.  I just never really thought to give him one.  My mon tried a couple times (not really sure why) but she had to fight him to take it.  I'd say just don't give your baby one and see how it goes.

You can do something else to soothe them. I used a pack with my first and I sucked at weening her off of it. So for my other 3, I didn’t even introduce a paci they may have needed an extra rocking and I had one babe that like me stroke his face to soothe him but I didn’t have to deal with the paci!! Which was awesome for me!

I had fast letdown so my son needed the pacifier because he didn't get to suckle very long when he fed before he was full. He loved his pacifier and he dropped it cold turkey at 6.5 months and breastfed past a year.
