I’ve been married for a year and 3 months. We have a 10 month old boy. But my husband has been mentally abusive lately. And has even raped me twice. I’m to the point where I’m not really sure what to do  And I met this amazing girl. She makes me smile. And she doesn’t expect me to act like someone I’m not. But I have to think about my child too. I’ve been staying with my husband because growing up my parents were divorced and I didn’t want my son to go through that.

It’s better to divorce than have your child watch you be abused. Divorce isn’t the end of the world and I promise a child who witnesses an abusive marriage wishes their parents would divorce.

Staying together for the child is NEVER a good choice. All that hostility and hurt you THINK you're hiding? Yeah, your kid picks up on that. They can sense when something isn't right. You're better off leaving now. You're child is young, when they get older all they'll know is seperated parents. Not to mention you want to set a good example for them. Would you want your child to stay with someone who raped them even once, not to mention twice? You know what you have to do.

You need to make the decision of whether or not you want your child to live the life you're living right now. The amount of abuse your child will see if you stay cannot be said. But he will be abused. Same as you if you stay. 
These thing exculate. You need to get out.

Please get out. Your child needs an advocate. Needs you to stand strong and give an amazing life. Not this one.

Do you want your child to think it’s ok to mentally abuse and rape someone? Because that’s what your doing by sticking around. Growing up with divorced parents suck, but growing up with a parent who is a horrible person who abused and rapes is so much worse. Leave your husband, and raise your child to have standards for themselves and that it’s never ok to condone abuse.
