Is fussing similar to crying it out??
My LO is almost 4 weeks. With night feeds, he will fall asleep on the breast, so I gently place him down in his bassinet and swaddle him. A few minutes later, he usually wakes up, but doesn’t start crying (if he got a good meal). He’ll squirm a little, make a few noises, and maybe try to fight the swaddle. This typically lasts maybe 5-10 minutes tops, with him getting drowsy multiple times in the middle, then ultimately falling back asleep on his own.
I was thinking about this tonight... am I basically letting him CIO?? If so, I don’t mean to be. He seems a little frustrated during this process, but he’s not distressed and like I said, he’s not actually crying (which he does know how to do!). Plus, he’ll usually then sleep for 2-3 hours afterwards, so it’s not like he’s just lying there awake until the next feed (that I’ve noticed, but I’m also back to sleep by this point).
