Anyone else’s baby say dada but not mama?

My daughter says dadadadada all day long but I’ve only heard her say mama one time a couple days ago. I’m not jealous or anything but I do wish she would say mama more especially now that I know she can say it

Yes! My son looks exactly like his father and says Dada all day long. It's fine, I just carried him for 9 months only for him to be a daddy's boy before he was a year old.

She’ll say dada all day long, I’ll tell her mama and she’ll start laughing/ saying dada louder.
The only time she says mama is when my husband takes her while I sleep and she gets frustrated with him.

The best explanation I heard was that babies think of their mommies as part of them so they don’t understand us as being a separate person. So Dada comes first because he’s ‘that guy over there’ lol. I loved this explanation. It’s also easier to say. I probably butchered it but anyway my first didn’t say mama until about ten months. He said dada, ball and cat even before that.

My son said mama first. Throughout the day he’ll say dadada, but when he’s upset and wants me he cries “mamama” in the saddest way 😂

Mine was saying Dada for about a month while Daddy kept trying to insist he say Mama. He just started saying Mama this last week. But he still says Dada a lot more. 😂
