Inconsistent feeding?

So my baby is 5 days old. From day one he’s fed every 2.5-3 hours (one night 4 hours). Tonight he fed a lot longer on each side and then not even an hour later wanted to eat again. Both times were a little over 20min. It’s only been 1.5 hours and he’s already eating again. Currently at 6 min for the one boob. Is this normal?!

Yes, normal!  They’re all over the place at the beginning as your milk comes in and then regulates and then they have growth spurts and decide they need more lol.

At the beginning they are very inconsistent! Just feed when hungry and eventually it will become more of a regular pattern.

My son are every hour (except when asleep) for the first ,8 weeks lol. It's normal for times to change too. They eat when they're hungry, that's the only schedule they follow

These are several growth spurts they go thru and they will have these days where they eat constantly. This is for 2 reasons. 1) to trigger your body to make more milk for the upcoming spurt. 2) to sustain them thru the growth spurt.

Totally normal the more you feed the better your supply will be, more milk out means more milk in.
