Would it be bad to get a puppy while pregnant ?

I’m a huge animal person. I have a cat. I’m due in July. My dads dog had puppies and they’re going to be somewhat big dogs. My 1 year old loves them! My husband wants to get her one but idk... puppies are a lot of work. Potty training, them chewing stuff, vet care..

As a dog lover and a person who has two grown dogs that didn't need training, I would absolutely not.

It's not something I'd do pregnant or not. I don't have the time or patience for a puppy.

I think if you feel like the potty training part could be settled by the time your new LO arrives go for it... also do u have a fenced yard? Bc I have 2 dogs (a large bully that's 100 pounds almost and a little teacup) and no fenced yard and have to walk them with the stroller which is not easy... and when it's bad weather I can only walk them while someone else is home to watch the baby. So sometimes they have to wait longer than I'd like to go out.

It's up to you when you are ready for one! If you have help with the training and what not, go for it. It's awesome having a child grow up with a pet. Ours has an amazing bond with our youngest, they are definitely bff's!

I got a puppy while pregnant. It was tough once baby was born but it was do able.
