Mamas what would you do?

My daughter is 13 months old and my niece is 2 (will be 3 in September). Every time we go to their house and my daughter plays with some of her toys, she gets mad and take it from her and says “mine”. Literally anything my daughter gets. Also she pushes her down, hits her and much more. Sometimes for no reason at all. I know she’s young and kids are going to do this but my daughter keeps getting hurt. My sister (nieces mom) just babies her and acts like she’s doing nothing wrong. Like when my daughter keeps getting something my niece doesn’t want her to have, my niece starts screaming and running to her mom. Her moms like “is she being mean to you?” (In a baby tone). I’m like are you kidding me?! I went home and I told her I wasn’t bringing her around for awhile until she liked how to play. Now my sister is mad. Am I doing wrong?

You are absolutely not wrong. I wouldn't be taking her back either. My niece used to do this with my son, but the very big difference was that my sister immediately stopped her. If she kept letting her do it, I'd never take my son back. It's not fair to your kid at all. My oldest just turned three and my second is 15 months. And my oldest has known how to share with his brother FOREVER. There's no excuse as to why your niece doesn't know how to share except for her mother reinforcing her spoilt behavior. I wouldn't take my kid back and I'd make sure the mother knows why. Because it's also not fair to HER child. No one is going to want to play with her and it's going to be her mom's fault for not teaching her to be nice.

nope you’re absolutely in the right . her child is going to teach your child to not share . on top of that your child is getting hurt from ones lack of parenting. sometimes you just have to do these things . your sister will get over it, will hopefully learn to put her food down when it comes to her daughter . i’m sorry you have to go through this .

Ur not wrong at all and your sister is not parenting. My baby is 4 months younger than her cousin. And her cousin was grabbing toys from her and sometimes possessive. Even before they turned 1 my sister in law was like no baby u need to share, give it back to ur cousin. Neither of them are 2 yet and they share so well! Bc we taught them to share and play nice. I would definitely have a convo with ur sister about this. And if she doesn’t try to change anything than I would be very limited with bringing my daughter back there
