Relationship advice

Sooo I haven’t heard from the guy I’ve been seeing/taking to in about 3-4 days. But I do know he’s been really sick (flu) he was working overnights, now has switched back to days, and on top of that, he has had his 2 year old kid. He’s extremely independent and does everything on his own. I’m just not sure if I should reach out and see if he’s okay or how he’s feeling. I know starting tomorrow he starts working 7 days in a row (he works 7 on 7 off). I just always have this fear of coming across as needy and desperate. Any thoughts or advice?
