Swollen finger

About 5 days ago I got my finger trapped in a letterbox. Anyway 2 days after it started to swell. And today it is so painful. I think its infected. I dont want to waste a professionals time over my finger. But it getting really painful.

When I hold tip of my finger and move it to side I can feel like a grinding.

At work as I'm a carer I have to slide people on slide sheets and I cant do it as my finger hurts too bad. And womt it be silly to take time of work over a little boo boo?

I sent these pictures to my work and asked if they could take clients with slide sheets off me for a few days,, but just like I thought they have added more on me.

I'm normally quite good with pain but this is a sickly pain and it's making my hand feel numb.
