Is $600 a month good pricing on a family health insurance plan? (Me, spouse, kid)

I work for the state government and my only option for a family plan to insure my 4 year old daughter, myself and my wife is $600 a month - $300 per paycheck. Is this the norm rate? Or should I shop elsewhere?

1. Where you live
2. What the insurance covers
3. What your copay is
3. What your deductible is

For our family of 4 insurance comes out to around 1200$/ month so I would say 600 is great

I work for local county government and it costs me about $208 a month for my husband and myself. Adding 1 dependent child only raises my cost $40 a month. 
$300 a pay is not terrible. If the plan is good that makes all the difference.

I was going to say that sounds crazy, but from other responses, maybe it’s ok? I pay 100/month for myself and baby. If I added my boyfriend, it would go up to 150/month. Pharma has notoriously good benefits though, so I don’t know what’s actually reasonable or not.

I’m on state insurance (I work for a state hospital) and I have an amazing policy. My entire pregnancy and delivery is covered. All I owe is $100. So if your states plan is anything like mine then I think $600 is great. I pay 160$ per check/$320 a month for just me and my husband. When the baby is born it will be $280 a check/$560 a month. My husbands insurance was going to be $600+ a check to insure our family. My old job was $300+a check for a family.

Depends on where you live. I have insurance through my employer and I pay $300 a month for my husband, my toddler and myself. My insurance is amazing and its 80/20. They pay 80% and I pay 20.
