Anyone help?

Hi 👋🏻 therapist here! I’d definitely suggest seeking out counseling. Usually the first resort would be to try therapy first, and add medication if therapy isn’t helping enough (the two in conjunction is often the ideal situation depending on severity of symptoms). You always have the right to say no to medication if you don’t want to take it. Good luck, things can get better!

I have both anxiety and depression. I've dealt with it my entire life. Sometimes it's worse and sometimes it's better. I'm currently not on medication (and haven't been for several years now). But I have a counselor who I see. I would definitely recommend talking to your primary care doctor as well as making an appointment with a counselor. Feel free to reach out if you need to talk 💕

I also have anxiety and depression. I have not seen anyone for any of my issues but I do get moments of feeling the same exact way. I also don’t want to be on medication so I started to do a little research on what I can do to help overcome this. I take a few different vitamins that are supposed to help with both anxiety and depression.

I went to counseling just to talk to someone and work out “solutions” for what was stressing me. Even at the end when they said I have a lot on my plate and no support system I felt better just taking about it. I also found my hormonal birth control was NOT helping me and went off that...I became pregnant shortly after so be careful lol

I have anxiety as well. I actually have found that in my own experience, counseling helped more than when I took medication. I will also say that I am more prepared now in knowing when it gets worse (right before my period). Also, I talk to my husband a lot about how I am feeling instead of holding it in.

I also struggle at times with anxiety. I haven’t tried counseling, but I think it is a good thing! I’ve also been working on more self care lately which helps. Doing simple work out videos at home, eating better, etc. that does help my mood!
Being a parent can be overwhelming. Last year when I was home for a year on maternity leave, I feel like I struggled more. I think it’s important to do things for yourself. Don’t put yourself last, your baby needs a happy and healthy mama.

I would definitely say that counseling should help. In my opinion, and experience, talking to someone and finding a solution to the root cause is what helped the most. I have been on meds before for it and it was only when I was at rock bottom and I couldn’t sleep, eat, or leave my house.
