Why can't people follow the schedule when I work

I work, however my boyfriend does not. He stays with the baby while I'm at work. Now the days I don't work were in bed by 9pm. We wake up anywhere from 4-6 am for food. We start the day anywhere between 9-10 am. We have a nap start time anywhere between 1:30 and 2:30 till 5-6 pm and then go to bed at 9pm. Is that schedule too difficult is it too much to ask him to follow that?

Hes 2 months old and he pretty much set that schedule himself while I was on leave. But when I'm not home they just sleep all day and then he doesn't want to sleep at night.
