We started daycare yesterday

My son is 5 months old and yesterday was his first day of daycare. I didn’t expect to cry once I dropped him off, but I was a complete mess for at least 15 minutes. I had to rush out of the daycare because as soon as I put my son down, I almost lost it. I’m also EBF and he was having difficulty taking a bottle. He was at daycare from 8-3 and only ate 4 oz when he was there 😞 it broke my heart. When I went to pick him up he looked so exhausted and I could tell he had been crying for a period of time.

I would really appreciate some words of encouragement through this transition. It breaks my heart to leave him as it is. But knowing he’s having a hard time is killing me.
