Birth story time.. 5 months later.

McKinley

So my story is 5 months late but my due date wasn’t until August 27, 2019 but because of my blood pressure running so high doc induced me early. I went into the hospital on August 13th at 8pm to get settled in and medicine for my induction started. They had an emergency c section with a lady that her cord fell out (mom and baby made it through and were healthy) so I didn’t get in my room until 10pm. Once I got hooked up to the monitors they put a pill in my cervix to start dialtion. I labor all night in bed and on a yoga ball and didn’t get very far, the next morning at 9:30 doc came in and broke my water, I immediately asked for my epidural! I labored all day, being checked every hour and at 7pm doc came in and checked me and told me I was still a 7 and had been for the past three hours so he would come back in one hour and check me and if no changes then I had to have a c section. My night shift nurse came on and was not about to let that happen so she got a peanut ball, turned me on my side and shoved it as far as she could up between my legs. I laid there 15 minutes and then called for her because I was cramping something awful. She checked me and I was a hard 9!! She told another nurse to call the doctor and to call him stat because the baby was coming with or without him.. this was at 9:30. He got in and there got situated. They turned my epi down so I could feel a little better.. 3 contractions and 5 pushes later and my beautiful princess had made her arrival at 7:48! I had the best OB ever! He delivered my baby on Wednesday and moved to the other side of the US on Friday! No ripping, no stitches. I feel like nobody tells you about the shakes after you deliver though.

I could not believe I had just brought this amazing life into the world!! I couldn’t stop crying and thanking God for all his blessings!
