Stranger danger

My daughter is 5 months old and has always cried when someone holds her or even looks at her. Today we met with a possible sitter (a lady who watches a few kids from her house) and she cried the entire two hours. I tried to bottle feed her, introduce &play with new toys, talked to her and held her. Usually the only thing that calms her down is nursing her. The sitter suggests we do a trial run next week, so I could drop her off and leave for an hour or two in between nap time. Does anybody have advice? I feel like she’s just going to cry and scream the entire time 😫
