Can someone give me some positive stories of a divorced family? Hate that my kids have to go through this. Not my choice.

I’d love some POSITIVE family divorce. Where both divorce families are involved and possibly step parents!

My ex and I separated when I was 3 months pregnant. He started dating his wife 6 months after we separated, we divorced officially when our son was about 7 months old. He has been married to his wife for 8 years this September and she is absolutely wonderful. She is young compared to us but has handled being a stepmother with a lot of grace. My son was seeing them every other weekend and a couple of weeks in the summer but they just moved further away so they don’t see him as often. She has struggled with fertility and has sadly lost 2 pregnancies, but I have been her phone call each time she has miscarried. When I had my twins she actually brought my son to the hospital and met them. I have been remarried for 4 years and my husband doesn’t have the same level of friendship with my ex but we are all still civil. We have met up for meals, we have all been at school functions if we can. I still have guilt over the divorce sometimes but truthfully it is a much better situation for me son than his father and I staying together. As long as the focus stays on the kids it will all work out!

Took a little time, year or two. But my parents used to go on vacation and spend holidays together. My mom even went on vacation with us and just my step mom a few times, while my dad worked. It’s possible. Just a lot of patience.

I divorced my ex when my kids were 3 and 5. It's taken a long time, but 8 yrs later we are in a fairly good place. Our 10 yr old son has mental health issues and we've spent the past year working together to try to get him the help he needs. At a certain point you have to put aside your issues and raise your kids together to the best if your ability. Neither one of us is remarried at this time.

i wish i could give you advice, my parents were disasters. i would just say from experience make sure there’s no bad talking around the kids. my parents always did that and they always did the “tell your mother “ “tell your father” or “tell your father he owes child support” . it was the most ridiculous thing ever playing mailman . i think if you can be as positive about it as much as possible and same for there father , everything will work out. good luck to you !

My parents split when I was 3 and my brothers 1 and 5. They got on and we’re friends throughout our childhood. I’m 29 and they both still phone to discuss my brothers or me if there are any concerns or medical problems. 
My dad helped decorate my mums hall for her surprise 50th a few years ago and went to her evening do of her wedding and stayed until the end to help clean up. My mum has been invited to all my dads birthday party’s and her new husband has aswell. 
We were not affected at all and have great childhood memories Altho I am aware this is only sometimes possible if both sides are willing to communicate.

My parents split when I was 3. My dad cheated and ran away with my mom’s best friend. It was messy af. But, my mom was amazing. She was able to put her hurt aside and coparent. Anything I did as a child, dace recitals, school events, etc., both of my parents were there, with their spouses (yeah, my dads still married to my mom’s old bff today). And it honestly made my childhood memories so much better than just having “mom memories” and “dad memories.” Also, my mom put me in therapy. Honestly, I don’t remember it because I was 3, but I’m sure it helped while home life transitioned.

Can someone give me some positive stories of a divorced family? Hate that my kids have to go through this. Not my choice.
