Getting Plan B?

Okay so I'm 20 years old. Always practice safe sex. It doesnt happen often as my boyfriend is in the marines.  I litterally saw him today for the first time In 2 years. He was asking me about How weird it was getting the Plan B. He thinks that every time after intercourse all women go get a plan B lol. But I've noticed that the plan b in like target is always locked up.   Since I never bought it before I was wondering if it was a controlled substance or not.

It’s a huge dose of hormones and is not safe to take multiple times. Plan B is the equivalent of taking an entire months worth of birth control in one shot. That’s why it’s locked up.
Plan B is for emergencies only... not because your boyfriend doesn’t feel like wearing a condom.
Plan B seriously screws up your cycle. It’s not birth control.

It's not something to be used as birth control. It's for an oopsie night when the FIRST kind of birth control fails (whether that be a condom, pills, spermicide) but shouldn't be used often! I'm not sure if there is a "healthy limit" to how many plan B pills one should take throughout the year. But it definitely messes with your body composition, best to leave it alone if there is no reason to alter it.

If it was a controlled substance you would need a prescription. It's locked up so no one steals it because it's expensive and because embarrassed teenagers might steal so no one knows they buy it
