PID diagnosis

C 🖤

I’m very certain I have PID that has gone untreated for a while. I’ve had issues down below on and off for about a year I guess- I’ve tried treating it as though it were thrush and also have been told firstly that I had a UTI and then later that I just have a pH imbalance.

I recently read something about PID and instantly knew what was causing my issues. I’d heard of it before but never thought of brining it up with my doctor as I though the symptoms were different for some reason. Reading them though I couldn’t have written mine any differently.

I’ve heard it can be difficult to get diagnosed with PID as it’s symptom based- just wondering how you- ladies who have been diagnosed with PID- found the whole process from your initial doctors visit to obtaining the diagnosis? I suffer with anxiety which, since having a string of awful experiences with doctors who were ignorant to the basics of female anatomy (“sorry but it’s physically impossible for anyone to feel their own cervix so I’m not sure what you think you mean” ...!) is triggered amongst other things by having to go to the doctor, so I’m just trying to find out a little more about what to expect.

Thanks! 🙏🏼
