Well, guess I’m no longer having an April baby she’s going to end up being a February baby

Kristin

I’m 30 weeks and 1 day today. My due date is April 5th.

At my 20 week scan it was detected that I have placenta previa AND placenta accreta. I’ve been having monthly ultrasound checks since then. Last week at my last ultrasound, the specialists noticed that the accreta turned into increta (placenta attached to uterine wall much deeper than the accreta). To avoid me going into natural labor which can cause bleeding, they want to deliver no later than 35 weeks.

My c-section is scheduled for 2/28 when I’m 34 weeks and 5 days. They are also planning to remove my uterus as it’s the safest way to deliver the placenta without major hemorrhaging.

Baby is totally fine and healthy. I feel bad that it’s me who has the problem and that she’ll likely have to go to the NICU.

This was going to be out last baby and our first was also a c-section so that doesn’t bother me so much. What freaks me out the most is that this can be a more complicated surgery and I may not get to see my baby right away.

I’m still trying to process all of this.
