Which is the most important day to get pregnant. The day before ovulation or on ovulation?

Today is the day of my ovulation. I didn’t have sex the day before ovulation and I’m wondering if my chances of pregnancy are too low.

Answer

Day before is more important because you never know how long the egg will start alive and wait for the sex to happen, and you don't know the minute it will be released. The egg can live up to 24 hours, but most of the time it's much shorter than that. So if you have sex the day before, you'll already have the sperm in there alive and waiting for the egg to be released. You still have good chances if you hit it on the day of ovulation, but the odds aren't as good as the day before I think.

When I was ttc I was told to have sex every other day leading up to ovulation day then 3-4 days after.
