My baby wasn’t too interested in sipping water till he was like 1, but we started offering around 8 months ish

I do baby led weaning and was told to offer sips of water with food from 6months, it helps them practise using a cup and can help stop constipation when introducing solids. But main fluid still should be breastmilk or formula. Too much water can be dangerous for a baby, and also full them up so they aren’t getting enough nutrients/calories.

You want them drinking well at one year so it's good to start practicing beforehand. The recommendation here in Germany is once they're on three meals a day.
