This might be pointless to some but I just wanted to share a story.

My husband works away from home a lot and sometimes be gone 4-6 months at a time and then only be home for a week or so. Me and our daughter used to travel with him until I had our son so we had to stay home. And I thought my daughter was just going through the terrible two stage because she really was just a terror. One day at the dr office I mentioned something to their pediatrician while she was throwing just a complete fit. I mentioned how when he visits she is so nice and just clings to him (since she’s done since birth) and when he’s gone she stops and is a terror again. The pediatrician mentioned that she probably had anxiety and that she doesn’t know how to handle it when he leaves and freaks out. I started thinking about it and when he started leaving more she stopped sleeping in her bed by herself which she had also done since birth and would scream bloody murder if she was alone or in a room by herself. So I did whatever I could to make her comfortable I would let her know if I was leaving a room to put something away or let her walk with me if I was going outside to get mail I got her weighted blankets and things got better but she was still a terror nothing could fix the fact that her favorite person was gone. 4 months ago we had our 3rd child and my husband couldn’t take being gone anymore and so he quit found a job and has been home. For the first month she would scream every time he left for work then she realized he would always come back. Now she is such a completely different kid. You don’t have to tell her a million times for anything, she loves helping clean and putting dishes away and cooking, she will play wether I’m in the room or not, she doesn’t wake up from naps screaming thinking she’s alone, as long as we give her a hug and a kiss when one or both of us leave the house she is ok, she even will go lay down in her own bed to go to bed. And dad is still our favorite person.
