Is changing an baby on soft surfaces nasty?

I noticed my cousin changes her two month old son on her bed, the couches, dining table, carpeted floor, etc. Its not my home (she lives with my aunt) but I don’t think her mom would be happy to know she does this lol... it’s a little gross tbh to change a baby on a soft surface like a couch 🤮

I changed my son all over my house... it's not gross.. 🙄 we use a towel or a blanket or nothing.   Didnt make a mess.. stop judging

I always put a blanket or pad under just in case

Babies can easily cause you to make a mess while changing them so it’s best that you at least have a changing pad under them

lol, I change the baby anywhere and anytime when we are home. I could give two shits about a hard or soft table lol. Everything clean!

Why is that gross? If the baby pees or poops on it then sure but otherwise no?

I change my lo anywhere except for high places . I don't have a changing table. My lo is to old and active to change anywhere other than the floor or couch  For poops, I take him to the bathroom sink and wash his butt first before taking him to the living room and changing him. So no problem there.
