Appropriate memorial attire?

I was going to wear black dress pants and black flats with a black top, but is it really necessary to wear ALL black? Would a red top or white top still be ok?

Wear what you want. To me the act of showing up is far and beyond more important than the color of clothes you're wearing. I'm not sure how that ever got started but I don't feel it's a big deal.

There's no appropriate attire to wear to a funeral in my opinion. My family is poor so all funerals are poor attire, jeans, vests, whatever. I always wear black because I like black. 💁

You definitely don’t need to wear all black. But just something conservative. Neutral colours or anything not really bright. Not the time for a fashion statement, but no need for all black unless you just like wearing black on a regular basis anyways.
