How vividly do you remember your labor?

Asking because I barely remember mine because I was in so much pain. I labored naturally for 17 hours (I initially planned on natural childbirth), then got an epidural. After 30 hours (including 3 pushing) I was wheeled off for an emergency c-section. My husband and I were recently talking about my labor and he was mentioning things I didn’t remember and it really upset me. He says it’s normal my brain blocked out a lot of it due to the pain I was in but it really bothers me that I can only recall maybe 3 of 31 hours.

Mine was unexpected and I remember the whole day so vividly it’s crazy. I remember exactly what I did that morning, what I ate, when it happened, actual labor, and birth. Maybe I remember it so well because it was probably the greatest thing that’ll ever happen to me and it just stuck in my mind, idk.

I remember mine quite well.  But, hearing things from my husband’s perspective is quite interesting.  I plan on writing both perspectives in her baby book.

My period cramps remind me of labor every month. They can get really bad! It feels like I did when I was 3 to 4 cm dilated 😭

My labor (water breaking to him being born) was 2 1/2 hours, unmedicated, I hardly remember anything because it all happened so fast

I remember most of mine but the right after is really fuzzy because I was so tired and coming off the pain meds. And I get the being upset thing. I feel like the whole hospital stay was a blur and kinda bothers me I didn't take more pics of her at that time, etc

I wish I didn’t remember mine.. i am scarred!! Before this baby’s birth, I wanted 2-4 kids. Now I’m scared to even have one more 😩 that’s how bad the emergency c section was!

I don’t remember my first labor or delivery (sept 2018) much at all. But with my second I remember just about all of it. Which is weird because I had an epidural with my first so I was very relaxed. And I was taken by surprise with my second because I waited too long for any pain medication at all so it was unmedicated

I remember the whole thing; from labor starting at home directly AFTER I left my 39 week appointment to pushing her out and the doctor not making it 😑. The thing that’s a blur for me is the two days after in the hospital. I barely remember anything except all the cluster feeding she did 😂

You remember less as the years go on... dont beat yourself up... I don't remember my 15yr old birth as much as I remember my 4mo... when I was 16 my appendix ruptured and I honestly don't remember most of that 3 weeks... It was pretty traumatic and I do agree with your husband that your brain blocks out the pain...
