Am i a bad mom? 2 year ild birthday party advice please

Hello! To start I’m a mother to the most beautiful little boy and he turns two this year. I’ve been going back and forth about giving him a party and I need some advise. I don’t want to have a party for him this year for a few reasons one, last year over 100 people showed, half I didn’t invite and there was no food left for everyone so people went home hungry, and also I didn’t get to enjoy any part of it.

This year I’ve been bullied into where I should have a party by my mother. She wants to go camping an hour away and flat out told me that if I didn’t have the party at camp she wasn’t going at all. So I agreed to have it at camp but then I’ve found out that no one else would go cause it’s to far of a drive.

Basically this whole thing is giving me a headache.

I love my son and I do want to do something special for his day but do I really have to have a party? Or can I just say fuck it and do something super tiny with just him me and his dad? Cause at the rate I’m going I’d have to have 2 seperate parties for him and I can’t afford that.
