My niece fell and busted her face at daycare and needed stitches. Her mom was freaking out and was already across the street from me when she told me she was going to the ER, so I just went with her for like emotional support. I have a lot of siblings, they’ve all done their fair share of falling and needing stitches and casts and what not. What they do in the ER for small children is they swaddle them so that they can’t be flailing around everywhere. mentally prepared myself to watch her scream and cry. It doesn’t hurt them because they numb them, but it freaks them out to be confined and they can feel the tugging and pulling of being stitched. Not this baby. She didn’t cry at all. She laid there completely still and completely calm and quiet and just let them clean it and then put five stitches under her eye. She is ONE year old! It’s like she knew she had to be super still and quiet. Her momma is the only one who cried because it was hard to watch her baby getting stitches.

I have never been more impressed by a kid in my life lol and the ER staff loved her. She made some friends up there.
