My husband and I were pulled over tonight. For a tag light that was out, we weren’t aware. He accused my husband of being on drugs or driving drunk because “his eye looked weird” (my husband has a condition called amblyopia, one of his eyes are not able to focus well. He has had it since childhood) and my husband told him that and he just laughed and said yeah right. Mind you, neither of us have EVER been into any legal trouble. We don’t do any illegal drugs at all, and only drink on special occasions like anniversaries, New Years etc. He continued accusing him and was saying such mean comments to him for like 30 minutes. Then searched my car which ofcourse he found nothing because we have nothing to hide lol. And he was just so horrible! Yelling at him for no reason. My husband was being respectful but started getting irritated at the end and said “sir, you can give me a breathalyzer test or a drug test if you would like. I don’t have time for this. I have to go into work in the morning.” And the cop got so mad because he said that. Just so embarrassing and insulting, the entire situation. I’ve never been treated like that by a police officer before. I will definitely start recording cops if I’m ever pulled over again, I see why people do now!
