My son has been sick for 14 days

It started with diarrhea. 2 days of vomiting. Then the rest of the days diarrhea. He was on the BRAT diet for a little bit but the doctor recommended on day 11 to just let him eat what he wants.

He’s down to one bowel movement a day- (usually first thing in the morning) but it’s so loose he needs a bath to get cleaned up. (A blowout- goes up his back, out the sides, up the front)

He’s been to the doctors twice.

He’s gaining weight and is staying hydrated so they aren’t worried and won’t do anything.

The doctor said he will start testing for chronic disorders after 4 weeks. I’m just not sure if that’s typical?

Anyone else been in this situation?

And how do I keep this up for 4 weeks???

I feel so bad for him!
