Do anyone read a bedtime story to your child every night?

I have two toddlers a girl who is 5 years old and a son who is 3 going on 4 years old. When they were babies I used to read to them every night now it’s sometimes.. my daughters is starting to ask me to read to her every night lately and I have been doing it but Sometimes I don’t be in the mood to read to her. am I wrong for have this feeling about reading to my kids at night?

Reading is just part of our bedtime routine. You could even all snuggle up in one room or on the couch together for your bedtime story then put each child in their own room. Reading has a huge impact on students’ vocabularies and knowledge development.

Yep. We have a book full of 5 minutes bedtime stories.  I will usually read one or two of them right before bed depending on the time.  Sometimes I skip it if it’s late or they’re not being good listeners.  I absolutely do not always feel like reading the book either and I basically have to force myself to do it.  I just do it and get it over with.  My kids go to sleep better if they have that little bit of relaxing time before trying to go to sleep.

I read to my daughter every night until about a year ago when her brother was born (she’s 9, so until she was about 8). Sometimes she’d read to me, other nights I’d read to her but we always read and she’s the top reader in her class so I’d like to think that had something to do with it. Now she just reads on her own before bed. My 1-year-old just rips the books out of my hands so far, but I’ll keep trying until he finally lets me read to him.
