Is it wrong for me not to want to spend Valentine’s Day with his family?

My boyfriend and I spend a lot of time with his family as it is which I don’t mind they are wonderful lovely people and I enjoy their company. But tonight my boyfriend really didn’t plan anything and is just gonna let his mom cook us dinner (the whole family) and we’re just gonna spend some time at the house. We both worked during the day so I’d only see him for a few hours. Is it horrible of me to want to spend today alone with him? I feel terrible and conflicted.

No but I also don’t think it’s worth being upset about for too long. Maybe talk to him and set up a different day to your own date night. Having romantic nights isn’t confined to just Valentine’s Day!

No, but I would just enjoy the good food and company of everyone you should have fun dont be bummed if you are surrounded by loved ones. Just take some time and set it aside to celebrate valentine's day on a day off you both have. Life doesn't always go as we plan but we can only make the best or worse out of any situation. So why not choose the best. Just think someone always has it worse than you out in the world some where, so having a house full of loved ones you are very blessed. You make life what you want it to be. Plus Valentine's day is just a consumer holiday that companies try and suck all your money away and brain wash you to think if it's not romantic or you dont get a gift that you feel guilty or heartbroken over.  So have a wonderful time and cherish what you have.
