Is it ok to go to dentist pregnant?

Are there any limitations they can’t do? I just need a check up but in case they found any cavities or anything are they able to work on them?

It is recommended that you go to the dentist at least once during your pregnancy. You should just tell them you are pregnant right away. They’ll know what they can/can’t do. The only thing I know for sure they didn’t do because I was pregnant was x-rays.

You're supposed to go to the dentist especially when you're pregnant. It's recommended you go every 4 months when you're pregnant. Just make sure you let them know in the case of procedures or x-rays. As far as cavities, I can't remember what they do. In my last pregnancy, they found a cavity a month before I was due, so I just waited until after I had my baby to have it filled. I'm not sure if they would have been able to fill it while pregnant or not.

My Dr said That you need to go once while pregnant. The only thing they did different when I went is put two X-ray guard things on my stomach rather than just once since I was pregnant!

Chances for gingivitis increase due to pregnancy hormones so it's important to go. My gums were a little sensitive so I went in and sure enough I had to have scaling, root planing, and 2 cavities filled. All safe during pregancy and better than not doing it. Gum disease can cause preterm labor and low birth weight. I was super nervous about it but confirmed everything with my OB before having any work done.

Yep! I've had a tooth pulled and cavities filled this pregnancy. I did have to get x-rays, but they covered my belly with the apron and only did quick ones instead of the usual panorama machine that you stand in.
