How soon would you travel with a newborn? Like a 9+ drive?

I’m due to have my first baby and in laws are pressuring me and my husband to travel in 1st week of July. Would require a 9 hr+ drive with 3 month old baby ( I’m due March 2020), and my husbands boys, 11 and 15. How do you pump, breadtfeed during the car ride? Do you stop and pull-over? I am a very private person and really nervous about managing the whole breastfeeding and pumping. 
I obviously already told them no, but they keep asking. They are asking my husband over and over again and I’m worried they are going to talk him into it. Like last time, we just went for Thanksgiving 2019, like less than 6 months ago.... so like why do they need us to go again?
And last 4th of July his family visited us and we threw a huge party at our house. I mean is every 6 months seem like a lot?

So they want to see the baby, but you're the one travelling!? Heck no! They can travel to you (if you allow it). It's your baby and you make the rules! No peer pressure!

I wouldnt travel to see them at all with a small baby. If they want to see the child they can come see you guys. I would just feel very uneasy and uncomfortable doing so.

I wouldn’t travel that far with a 3 month old. IF ur husband gives in then He can go by himself🤷‍♀️he can’t force u and the baby to go. 
And no, every 6 months is not very often at all to see immediate family. But 9 hours isn’t worth it with a newborn imo.

Newborns sleep a lot. It’ll get more difficult the older they get.

I mean traveling with a newborn isn’t too bad since they sleep well. It’s definitely manageable but with your comments of how you just saw make it seem like you don’t want to go and maybe aren’t that close? You seem to be asking if you can use the newborn as an excuse not to go? I mean use the newborn card as much as you want. I know I use it often :)

We didn’t drive but we flew from IL to NJ when my girl was 6 weeks. We did her baptism there since our entire family is from NJ. We’ll prob do the same thing this time around. Maternity leave is only 8 weeks so I’m limited on time

That 9 hour drive is going to take forever with all the stops. I would say no. Sounds miserable.

You’re going to need to stop a lot, which is going to make the trip that much longer.  A baby shouldn’t be in a seat that long.  Everyone is different with their situation and comfort level.  It’s not something I would have felt ready for that early.  It sounds like you aren’t either.  I would just say “no”. They can visit if they want to meet the baby when you’re ready to see them. Seeing them every 6 months really isn’t that much, unless there is a reason (like they’re toxic people).

If they want to see you guys THEY can be the ones traveling. Dont take a baby for a car ride that long simply to please them if your not comfortable with it. I certainly wouldnt if I were in your position.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong about traveling with however old your baby is, but if they are the ones so determined to see you, why don’t they just come out to visit you? The road goes both ways
