When will/did you go on maternity leave?

I work a typical M-F 9-6 office job sitting in front of a computer for 8-9 hours a day. I’m currently 30 weeks along with my first. My original plan is to work until I go into labor at my desk lol because I want to extend my maternity leave for as long as I can.
BUT recently my friend made a good point... she had her first baby a few months ago and suggested that I take at least 1 week off before my due date so I can have some precious days to myself to just relax, Netlix all day, go out and have coffee with friends, prep for baby, etc before baby comes. Cuz I won’t get that time to myself again after baby’s here... 
What about you ladies?

I’d go stir crazy at hone. I worked on Friday and was induced on a Tuesday (past my due date). Even during my leave I got so sick of staring at the walls of my own home....but at least there was a cute baby to look at too. I wanted all the time I could have with baby, as it wasn’t going to be enough as it was. 
Your life doesn’t have to end because you have a baby, you can still have time alone/go out with friends etc etc....you’ll just need child care for a few hours. 
But everyone of different.

38 weeks. I will 12 hour shifts overnight on my feet

I went out at 32 weeks. Only because im a nurse that works on a very busy labor and delivery/postpartum unit and the 12 hour days/pt load was getting too tough

I had 1 week off before baby came, we were induced at 40 weeks with my first. That week at home was spent getting last minute things ready and trying to start labor. Lol. This time we are inducing at 39 weeks and 2 days (our choice, child care convenience really, only have reliable child care available on Wednesday’s) I currently only work Wednesday’s because of this, so I’m planning on working up until we induce this time around.

I worked until a couple of days before my due date.  He was nearly 2 weeks late and those 2 weeks drove me crazy, just waiting.  I can’t imagine having taken off 2 weeks earlier and then waiting a month. I wanted as much time as possible with babe.

I worked until the Wednesday prior to giving birth on the Monday. Only reason I was out at that time was bc of the amount of doctor appts I was going to daily.

I’ve been contemplating the same. I have an extremely high stress job upper level management job and was going to work up until I went into labor but I’m only 27 weeks now and completely mentally (and physically obviously) exhausted...plus I’m still in school full time 🤦🏼‍♀️. I think I might take two weeks of PTO off before my due date to get things in order and just relax!

In California you get disability a month before your due date. I took it and got two weeks at
Home to prep get my hair nails done waxed etc and it was awesome. Baby came two weeks early but those few weeks alone were sooo nice.
