Is 38 weeks to early for labour?

I am 5 cintimated dilated and she wants to Induce me now because it's my second baby and it will come fast.

I had mine at 38 and she us just fine. They do inductions at 37 weeks all the time the medical reasons. 37 weeks is considered full term technically.

I would’ve unless there was a medical reason. You’re not considered full term till 39/40 weeks. 37 is early term and baby still has some important lung development to do yet. I guess I don’t understand your drs reasoning? Bc 2nd babies come fast ?! So let that baby come when they want to 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m getting induced at 37 weeks which is considered full term so baby will be fine if you induce now

My second baby came at exactly 38 weeks. I was 5cm dilated and had a membrane sweep and only had a 3 hour labor. She was perfectly healthy had a strong latch and had quite a set of lungs.

My first came during week 38 and were perfectly fine. At 5 cm you sound pretty close to going into labor on your own so I wouldn't bother with induction personally

If I could get my cervix to dilate 5 cm in the next week I would 100% get the induction at 38 weeks. I got induced with my first (at 40+4) and it was so nice to know it was happening vs keeping waiting for it. Now with a 2yo at home it'd be so convenient to schedule it and get Grandparents here at the right time.

Not too early at all. However with my second baby I was 5cm at 37 weeks and went all the way to 41 weeks 3 days before I actually went into labor. It still took 12 hours to have her. I would avoid induction at all costs, my induction with my first was pretty terrible. I’m happy I refused one the second time. Going overdue was way better than induction was for me.
