Am I overreacting ???
I work at the same daycare my 11 month old baby goes to. I’m usually pretty good in letting HER teacher do her job however today another teacher (lazy teacher) was in her class for lunch break and I could hear my baby crying for a few mins.
I go in her classroom and see my baby in her crib crying and the teacher on her phone.
Teacher says baby just woke up from a nap.. I’m like ok.. 😒. I picked my baby up, calm her down and place her on a rocking chair and walk out.. then baby starts to screaming. I waited outside a few minutes and still hear her crying . I go back to her class.. teacher still on her phone 😡
Teacher didn’t try to comfort baby.. didn’t say anything to me like you know “it’s ok, i got her” .. Nothing
I understand babies cry and specially when they see mom but she could at least try and do something.
Just because I’m staff doesn’t mean my child should be treated differently..
What if it was another parent? I bet her reaction would be different. She would probably hop up and pick up the baby.
I think I’ll talk to our director who usually doesn’t do anything 🙄 but I feel I need to let her know that teacher shouldn’t be in there if she’s not gonna take care of each childs needs.
