How did you sleep train?

Tell me what you did. How long did it take? Is it still effective now?

I modified the Ferber method. The Ferber method says to do check ins at 3, 5, and 10 minutes the first night and then each night increases. I did 3, 5, 7, and 10 minutes. And I never increased the time because I didn’t want him crying longer than 10 minutes. It worked great. He was putting himself to sleep in less than 15 minutes by night 3. It’s been 2.5 weeks and he puts himself to sleep for naps and bedtime in 3-5 minutes, sometimes less. And usually no crying. If he wakes up at night, he soothes himself back to sleep quickly. I only feed him once at night but he was a preemie and still needs that feeding. I could probably wean him from out if I wanted but it doesn’t bother me

So I did check in’s when she would start to cry. Didn’t let her cry any longer than 5-10 mins. I would pat her butt and “shhh” her until she settled down. The first night, I had to go in maybe 3 times. By the third night, I laid her down and she didn’t cry at all. I was finding that by getting her out of her crib to try and rock her, it just made the process of getting her back to sleep harder. I hope this helps! It was rough but so worth it.
