Gunk in eyes and lashes?

Question

My 9 month old has been coming home from my moms (who babysits her while I’m at work) with gunk in her eyes? Usually after a nap. This is the second day. But when she’s at my house this doesn’t happen. Do you think she could be allergic to something?
PS: they have two dogs. But I own dogs too and that has never been a problem

I can't see it very well but when my son had this misty gunk in his eye it was conjunctivitis. This is not at all a reflection of how your mom cares for her, babes can get it at any time. Just go to your GP and get some ointment or eye drops. But get her checked as it may be something else. X

Massage the lacrimal sac, it's clogged so that's the reason for the eye boogers, my mom would tell me to put a towel dipped in chamomile tea over her eye

If there is no redness in the white of the eye, it’s probably just a blocked up tear duct.  They can get them anytime in the first year.  If there’s any redness or he develops any, then take him in.  In the meantime, gently wipe it with warm sterile water.

That looks like pinkeye. I’d definitely get her checked out.

If it were pinkeye, it would be irritated and uncomfortable as well as darker. I would call and ask a doctor. My son had something similar and it was a tear duct issue.

If it’s clear or white just keep it clean with a warm wet cloth if it turns yellow or green get him seen by a doctor
