How did your partner react?

So this past week I found out that I have genital herpes. However, I don’t know where I could have gotten it from. Anyways, I told the guy that I’m romantically involved with because we have been intimate. Long story short, this might be the end of our relationship, or maybe he’s adjusting. I really want him to come around and accept it, but I can’t make that happen for him. I just want to know... is there any hope for my situation? How did your partner initially react when you told them about your condition?

I found out about a month into my relationship and he knew what was going on from the minute I had symptoms up until my test results. He panicked but he did some research and he told me that he loved me and still wanted to be with me. If your partner decides they can’t accept it then it just means that they probably aren’t the one for you. But please don’t me beat yourself up about it. Has your partner been tested for it?

I found out a year into my relationship. My husband (than boyfriend) had gotten his first outbreak. I had never had one (and still have never had one.) We both got tested, and came up positive for both of us. So, at this point, it doesn't really matter for us. 
But, LOTS of people have relationships where one person has it and the other doesnt. It works out. Give him some time, he may come around. Maybe talk to him about ways you can prevent spreading it, etc.
