Yeah you literally cannot control what your child says when they aren’t around you. My 13 year old cusses around his friends. I did too at that age. It’s normal, I think. I told him as long as I don’t hear it, and he isn’t calling anyone names or using it negatively (so saying fuck you or whatever) then I don’t care. If he says damn it or shit, doesn’t bother me. I just don’t want to hear it. Lol. But we’ve told him there’s better language to use and not to make those words replacement words for others, cussing isn’t intelligent sounding but at that age it’s typical.

Depends on the context- directed at someone and extreme disrespectful no. Cussing when they drop something or get cut off by a car I don’t care.

We don’t use that type of language and we both grew up in households that didn’t use it. We teachers, we also call out kids who cuss. Hopefully our children also do not use it or use it at appropriate times, like on fishing trips and not at work.
