Diaper size variation ?

Question

We are currently using size 1 Costco brand diapers. But baby is having a lot of blowouts. He’s on the small side (~12lbs), and could still fit into some NB diapers. But the ones we have, by Hello Bello, seem really small. 
Should we go back to NB size but use a different brand? Are the Costco ones just bad at their job? 
I wish I could buy variety pack of different brands of diapers so I could find the best fit. Sigh.

When ours is having consistent blowouts it normally means it’s time to go up a size. I don’t really go by the weight guidance on the nappies but rather by how they feel and how often they fail.

I also think that the hello bello diapers run small. My daughter can fit a size 3 pampers, huggies and target brand at 12lbs 6 oz

No clue what my little chunky monkey weighs but he’s 15 weeks tomorrow and I think he’s going to be in size 3’s soon! He’s been peeing through the 2’s more frequently no matter how often he’s changed.

My daughter is 12lbs 9oz and wears size 1 in honest and huggies. Huggies run bigger than honest imo. Just starting to get some blowouts in size 1. Once she finishes up this set of 1s, we have 2s ready and waiting.

At 12 pounds they would most likely be in size 1 with most brands. My son just hit 13 pounds (he's skinny) and can wear size 1 in most brands and some size 2s.

My boy is 13lbs and we use size 1 in honest company but they do run smaller than Pampers pure which is the other brand we use. I noticed our huggies special delivery runs similar to pampers.

We were using size 1 hello bello and having lots of blowouts but pampers and luvs seemed to still fit just fine and our little guy is about 12lbs now too. I love hello bello but yes I agree they run small

No use size 1 or 2 with a 12 lb baby. My daughter is around 14 lbs and we just went to size 3 because we kept having frequent blowouts. Go by fit not by weight.

I don’t go by the weight on the diapers. I go by how they fit and if I start to have blow outs I go up a size. My guy is only 12 lbs I have him in size 3 they fit much better on him. I also use pampers and find the diapers stretchy and dryer.

Hello hello doesn’t run small, it’s honest company that does around the middle. I would honestly try pampers size one if you’re having issues with blowouts. They’re way more stretchy around the middle. But we just sized my girl up to size 3 in hello hello and she’s 14 pounds and they’re comfy for her and zero blowouts or leaks which is what we were having issues with at night.
