Sick and breastfeeding

Both my 12 week old and I are sick. He was sick first then I was hit hard with it 3 days later. No fever but for me my throat hurts like crazy, my whole body hurts, especially my lower back and hips, and my nose is running like crazy. It also feels chesty and my baby sounds chesty as well but he’s eating, has wet diapers, and seems relatively happy and sleeps decently minus the dry coughs.

I’m suffering pretty badly and also trying to care for him. I’ve been sick on and off since I had him so my immune system is weak. Because I breastfeed I can’t take cold meds or use Vick’s vapor rub. My mother in-law is bringing us a humidifier tomorrow (she wouldn’t get it for us for the evening and threw a fit about wasting money when I said I’ll just buy one). What else can I do to help ease the pain? I was drinking ginger cumin tea, lots of water, unfortunately sleep is something I don’t get to have while my husband works and my mother in law only can stay an hour or so to watch my baby so that I can rest.
