Crabby baby
My 1 month old is extremely crabby so much so that I took him to the ped and she confirmed that he’s colicy. He will latch to the breast for just a minute, pass some gas or poop, and then be completely content then 10 minutes later be back at it. I was miserable.
Well I woke up this morning at 4am and my boobs were just aching! I decided to pump and I think I found the real cause. After just 4 minutes of pumping, I had expressed 3oz from both sides (6oz total). I wasn’t done yet and didn’t want to empty the breast, just needed some relief because little man was finally sleeping decently at the moment. I think my milk is coming out way too fast for him. He has been latching on then coughing and spitting out his mouth full of milk, so I should have caught it much earlier.
What can I do to help it not come out so forcefully? I want to keep breastfeeding on the breast, but if need be I guess I could just pump for him but it’s not my preferred method.
