how to be a step mom?

there’s all kinds of ways to be a mother. stay at home, full time work, part time, what have you.

what about being a step mom?

my boyfriend has a 3 year old son. he gets him thursday-sunday. unfortunately, he works nights. so on thursday and friday i am the only one available to take care of the boy.

and it’s a thankless job.

i love the sweet boy. i love him as if he were my own. i take care of him and feed him and clothe him and make sure he is loved.

but sometimes i wonder if anyone even cares.

i do the work. i put the time in. i’m there. will anyone even care?

any step moms out there understand what i’m experiencing? am i just being selfish?
