May baby is now a Feb baby!
Well it's been nice being a part of this group and seeing all the love and support!
But my little one decided that he was ready to see the outside world a bit sooner than anticipated!
Remember everyone you are NEVER overreacting to go to the hospital to get checked even if you are 99.9% sure that it's a false alarm. Don't ever hesitate to go to the hospital to get checked!
Edit/Update:
It all happened very quickly and it has taken the better part of the past day to even just process some of it! At 29 weeks 4 days was feeling fine and then started to have some (not painful) what I thought were Braxton Hicks at like 2 in the afternoon. They weren't consistent and they somewhat became even less consistent after I drank some water and laid down. I also felt like I needed to pee even more constantly.
At like 5ish, they were still happening a few times an hour with some discomfort when I peed. So, thinking I might have a UTI, I called my midwife and they told me to come in. I got to the hospital and they hooked me up and I was having contractions pretty consistently (just not feeling most of them). They gave me some meds and some fluids which started to slow down the frequency. They checked me I was 3cm dialated and they decided to transfer me to a hospital with a more intensive NICU and L & D. My contractions continued to decrease and slow down as I was transfered.
I got settled in to the new hospital at around 9:30pm with the idea that I was probably going to be in the hospital on bed rest for a few weeks. My contractions were even more infrequent and not painful.
At about 10:30ish my contractions started to increase out of nowhere. By about 10:40 they suddenly became very intense and painful. They started to peak very sharply and I didn't feel much relief between them. They paged the doctor, and at about 10:55 they were continuing to increase in intensity and there was no relief between them and then I started to feel pressure. The doctor came in checked me and I was fully dialated and 100% effaced with a bulging bag of waters. They quickly prepped the room for delivery and the NICU team arrived as I started to get ready to push. He arrived after a few intense pushes and an exploding water bag at 11:19pm.
I'm happy to say that little Benjamin is doing well, he is in the NICU (as he will be for a couple of weeks) but has already made great progress and is doing well for an almost 30 weeker.
I am very thankful that I listened to my gut and made the call to go in. I wasn't in pain, etc until the very end, so if I had ingored it or tried to "tough it out" thinking they were Braxton Hicks, and since everything intensified when it did, there's a strong possibility that I could have risked not making it to the hospital in time.
That's why it's always better to go in, even if you're hesitant or unsure!
I guess he just very much was ready to join everyone on the outside!
