2nd Baby Sip n See?

Anyone not in the south host a sip n see for your 2nd baby? How was it received by friends/family?

My sister in law and best friend are both also pregnant right now which is super exciting. But I feel a little like my baby is being lost in the shuffle. As a second, he won’t get a shower (which is totally fine, we don’t need gifts) and we didn’t do a gender reveal (for him or for our daughter, we just didn’t like the idea of putting people in a situation where they might feel obligated to bring yet another gift). My sis in law’s is her first and my bff is having her 2nd & third (twins!!) so naturally they’re both a big deal and are both having both gender reveals AND showers. Meanwhile my little bean won’t get a celebration at all and I just feel like his little life should also be celebrated!

I’ve been toying with the idea of a sip n see after he’s born just as a way to celebrate. No gifts bc obviously he’d be born already and we’d already be set. Just a party at our house to celebrate his arrival.

My hesitation with this is that I’m not from an area where a sip n see is a common thing, so I don’t know how my friends/family would take it. Thoughts?
