How long were you all dilated for 1 cm before the baby came and how did the dilation progress ?

So I am 39+5 today. Had an internal today, baby’s head is engaged, cervix soft and 1 cm dilated. I noticed pinkish discharge 5-6 hours after my appointment. What could it be? I have been cramping more frequently today.

Unfortunately, none of those things give you any indication of when labor will start.  Labor will start when baby is ready to come out, and your body could spend weeks "ready" to start labor.

No idea why so many doctors are sticking their hands in women to check their cervix until labor. It’s invasive and ups the chance of infection. I’ve only ever been checked while in labor because absolutely none of that tells you when you’ll go into labor.

With my oldest i was fully closed the day before i went into labour, with my second i was 1cm for a week before getting induced.

I've been at 4cm 80% effaced for 4 days now. I truly don't believe it means much. Been losing my mucus plug and all for the past 2 weeks😕
