Getting your nails done

I'm going to the nail salon this weekend with the intention of getting a manicure done. I'm stuck between whether to get acrylics or gel.

What's the difference in them? Which one lasts longer? Which one is cheaper? Which one looks better/more natural?

And secondly, which set looks best? I haven't had my nails done in 10 years, so this momma is excited to treat herself to a little something. Look good, feel good!
